                                                DESCRIPTION: A 10-cm fixed-station, height-finding aircraft detector, with
                                                plan-position cathode-ray tube and accurate range, azimuth, and altitude
                                                determination. Antenna mounted on platform on top of tower and inclosed in
                                                turret. Range 65 miles.

                                                MILITARY CHARACTERISTICS (Revised): Recommended by SCTC Meeting No. 257,
                                                5 Apr. 43, and approved by ASF in 2nd Ind.,  9 Apr. 43, file SPRMD 413 44.

                                                Progress:
               
                                                1.     General.

                                                    a. Recommendation was made by this Laboratory to the
Chief Signal Officer to modify a Radio Set SCR-615 to include
the “pulse doppler” scheme, to determine the ability of the
set to detect moving targets in the presence of ground
clutter. This recommendation has been approved by OCSigO
.

                                                    b. A report on the “pulse doppler” system is included
in Project 401D.
